Topic Types

Topic types are a taxonomy set that can be used to categorise the topics.
All topics have the same content structure. By setting topic types, you are able to categorise this content. This makes it easier to search for certain content in the overview, or on peoples profile.

The default topic types in Open Social are:

  • News
  • Blog
  • Discussion

You can then create a separate menu link that links to just one topic type. Clicking on the link will show users a page that contains only one content type, e.g. ' Blog'.
Topic types can help you create a structure in your platform.

Site Managers can create new topic types and delete the default ones via Dashboard > Taxonomy > Topic types.
Some other examples could be documents, resources, support, ideas, and materials.
