Digest feature design update

The digest feature allows community managers to send emails to members that contain interesting community information for them, so they will come back to and engage in the community more frequently.

Below is a brief summary:

  • Our general principle is to make this feature flexible, so content and site managers can send the right information to the right members.
  • There are 2 types of digest: automatic and manual
  • For automatic digest, content and site managers can add a title, a description, specify who should receive the digest, what type of content should be sent in the digest, how often the digest should be sent and where users should go to after reading this digest. The automatic digest can be made active or inactive.
  • For manual digest, content and site managers can add a title, a description, specify who should receive the digest and where users should go to after reading this digest. Content and site managers can hand-pick content, groups or members for the manual digest or have the content selected automatically in the same way as the automatic digest. Besides, content and site managers can also preview the manual digest or save it as a draft.
  • We will develop this whole feature in different phases.
