Add multiple users to a group
Do you want to add multiple users to a group? We’ve just made it easier! Group managers can add multiple users to a group by selecting them (pretty similar to when you send a private message).

Add multiple users to a group
Add multiple users at once to your group. Efficiency, y’all!

Content managers can access group overview
The group overview page is now accessible to Content Managers. The group overview also contains the number of members and the creation date as well. And, last but not least, you can sort the columns on, for example, ‘latest created group’.

Content/Site managers can access comment overview
The comment overview page is now accessible Content and Site Managers. The comment overview also includes comment text now (no more extra clicking to see the content 👌). The default columns 'subject' and 'posted on' have been removed.

Decide which content to display on your profile
Sometimes, you don’t want to display the topics, events, and or/groups you’re a part of (or contribute to) on your profile. We’ve now implemented permissions for every item (‘view … on my profile’ and ‘view … on other profiles), which makes it easier to decide which items to display on the profile.

User export has a lot more fields!
We extended the user export module with a lot more fields; user address, skills, and many more! User data is a goldmine for understanding who your users are, trends in groups/events/topics, and enhancing the community experience for everybody. That’s why we love improving it.

Unpublish comments with ease
We made it easier for Content and Site Managers to unpublish comments. Now, you can just go to the edit comment screen and unpublish it. You’ll also notice a clear distinction between unpublished and published comments. Pretty handy stuff.

Email notifications are more clear
We receive tons of email notifications a day. We want to make sure that the Open Social email notifications are clear and useful. Now, we’ve included both the action that was performed (e.g. user liked your topic) AND the titles of the content items and groups its about, making it much clearer.

Improved user registration and login experience
We improved the user registration and login experience by providing links between the two screens (see the image below as an example!). Site managers also add custom help texts to these pages by changing them in the account settings. A default help text has been included for regular signups and social signups.

Do you already have an account? Then press the ‘Log in’ button instead!

Added an ‘All day’ option for events
Currently, the time field is required for events. But there are also events that have no specific starting or end time (all day barbeque, anyone?). For these events, we added an “all day” option where you only have to fill in the date(s).

All day events
You can now choose ‘all day’ as a time for your event

Anonymous visitors can enroll in events
We want to help increase engagement with anonymous visitors. Visitors (non-logged in users) can now enroll in events as well. Everyone is welcome! A pop-up is displayed that allows the visitor to sign up, log in or sign up to the event as a guest. The number of anonymous enrollees will be counted with the other enrollees, and event managers can even view them in a separate tab. Learn more.

Bug Fixes

  • External module improvements: We ensured that external modules have the correct brand colors selected in the theme settings.
  • Code improvements: Code improvements were made to the social_comment_upload module.
  • Public visibility available for custom groups: When a group belonging to a custom group type is selected during content creation, only the Community option was allowed in the Visibility field. With this fix, Public visibility is now also enabled as an option.
  • Post entity type improved: The proper hooks are now implemented for the Post entity type to ensure that posts are correctly re-assigned to a new author or deleted if a user is removed depending on your site settings.

The following modules have been updated:
